Pamela Leichtling · Senior Counsel

Pamela J. Leichtling has extensive experience as a civil trial attorney in both state and federal court. She has represented a wide range of clients including corporations and financial institutions in commercial and business litigation.

Pamela has defended against consumer lending lawsuits including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Consumer Fraud Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth In Lending and RESPA claims, product manufactures in asbestos actions; small businesses, general contractors in breach of contract and mechanic liens disputes; public utilities against temporary restraining orders, skilled nursing home facilities in False Claims Act cases and governmental agencies in condemnation actions. Pamela’s practice also concentrates in litigating labor/employment disputes where she defends clients against class actions for violations of wage and hour laws, discrimination charges and breach of non-solicitation and non-competition agreements, violations of the Federal Trade Secret Act and Computer Fraud Act.

Pamela has represented creditors in bankruptcy courts throughout the country including representing creditors’ committees in preference and fraudulent conveyance litigation. Her bankruptcy experience has included the representation of Section 1114 Retiree Committees: working on all phases of the litigation from initial formation of the committees through the appeal of benefits by retirees.

She has successfully defended attorneys in disciplinary actions before the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission and in legal malpractice lawsuits as well as representing clients against general liability claims.

As part of her litigation practice, she has argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and several cases before the Illinois Appellate Court.
